Frequenty Asked Questions - Tools

What sequence search tools exist in Ensembl Genomes?

We provide two sequence search tools, BLAST and an alternative sequence search algorithm, based on Exonerate (and provided by the European Nucleotide Archive). Links for both searches are located in the header of all Ensembl Genomes pages. The BLAST search can be configured to search against individual species or collections of species; there is a taxonomic browser to allow the selection of taxonomically related species as part of the bacterial BLAST search, although there is currently a limit of 25 genomes. The Exonerate search automatically searches against all species in an Ensembl Genomes division.
